The Cleansing of Joshua the High Priest and the Promised Branch
3
Chapter 3
1He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, with the satan standing at his right hand to be his adversary.2And the LORD said to the satan, "The LORD rebuke you, O satan, and the LORD has rebuked you, the one who chooses Jerusalem! Is this not a brand plucked from fire?"3And Joshua was clothed in filthy garments and stood before the angel.4He answered and said to those standing before him, "Remove the filthy garments from him." And he said to him, "See, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I have clothed you with festal robes."5And he said, "Let them put a pure turban on his head." And they put the pure turban on his head, and he clothed him with garments, and the angel of the LORD stood.6And the angel of the LORD testified to Joshua, saying:7Thus says the LORD of hosts: If you walk in my ways and if you keep my charge, then you will also judge my house and you will also keep my courts, and I will give you places to walk among these who stand.8Listen, please, Joshua the high priest—you and your companions who sit before you—for they are men of sign. For behold, I am bringing my servant Shoot.9For behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua—upon one stone seven eyes—behold, I will open it, says the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.10On that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, "You will call a man to his neighbor under a vine and under a fig tree."
